In the presidential elections of 1976, then presidential candidate Democrat Jimmy Carter won Texas. No other Democrat presidential nominee has ever won this electorate Texas election results favored Senator McCain during the last presidential elections too. McCain won by 56 percent to 44 percent margin. This came as a no surprise since polls analysts predictions were all for a Republican victory

In Texas, the number of registered voters stood at 13.5 million voters. It is interesting to note that Senator John McCain was successful in bagging 4,467,748 votes. On the other hand, Senator Barack Obama polled 3,521,164 votes. The percentages were 56% and 44% respectively. Republican candidate John McCain received the 34 electoral votes on the strength of the Texas election results.

(Surveys conducted immediately after the Texas election results were announced are of value to research workers interested in doing research work on US presidential elections~Following the Texas election results, opinion polls were launched and their findings are of benefit to researchers doing researches on 2008 elections}. Texans were more concerned about the economy than terrorism in deciding who they should wanted their next president to be. Anyway, they seemed to pay more attention to problems concerning the conflict in Iraq, energy policy and health care than terrorist problems. Obama had the support of the economy-concerned voters whereas McCain was popular among those who were concerned about terrorism.

The Republican senator John McCain had the overwhelming backing from the whites, the rich, Evangelical Christians, seniors and republicans in his race for the president. Most of the interviewees were reported to be approving the role played by President Bush and thus extended their support to McCain. McCain won two-thirds of the votes of white people and nearly three-fifths of the rich in the State. Texas election results were swayed by these developments.

Senator Barack Obama was very popular among the black voters in Texas. Black peoples attitude towards Barack Obama was influenced by the fact that he too was an African American. Only 1 percent of blacks voted for McCain. Hispanics made up a large part of population in Texas, and they were frantic to make Obama the 1st Black American president in the history of the USA.

Hence, Texas election results were tinted with these facts and figures. They exerted a controlling hold on the outcome of the election results of the Texas State. Anyhow, just as in the past, It was the Republicans who came out on top in 2008 presidential elections.

In 2008, there has been a presidential election to elect a new president for the United States of America. Senator Barack Obama was the democratic nominee whilst Senator John McCain was the Republican nominee. After a very grueling election campaign, Barack Obama was elected the 47 president of the USA. He is the first black American president in the history of the United States of America. It is in order here to discuss a sample of election ballots that were used during this poll.

Ballot papers are the most important documents during an election. The voters cast them and the winner is declared having counted the votes cast for him. Hence, all the care has to be exercised in voting so as not to waste your precious ballot To familiarize yourself with a ballot paper, it is prudent to do a search on the Net for a sample of election ballots beforehand

Internet has many such sample ballot papers stored on websites. It may be that the samples so found look dissimilar, but their contents are more or less the same. All the information that should go into making a correct ballot paper is fed into these sample ballot papers for you to study them. Hence, having a look at a sample of election ballots in advance is advantageous in that you would not make a mistake on the Election Day.

Generally you can get advice on how to vote on a sample of election ballots All the dos and donts on a ballot paper are printed clearly in unambiguous language. Advice is also given to hand back the ballot paper to an official if you erroneously marked it and get a fresh one. No erasing or crossing out or other unnecessary markings are allowed on a ballot paper. It has to be clean as a whistle.

Nowadays, various voting systems are used in the USA. In addition, standards have been designed to ensure the accuracy and fairness of the electronic systems in use. Touch screen voting machines are widely used in casting ballots today. Anyway, some states even now hang onto the former conventional method of ballot box. But, still for all, you had better acclimatize yourself with all the details of the particular polls and the candidates by viewing a sample of election ballots online.

On 4-11-2008, the presidential election polls of the USA were conducted. Republican John McCain from Arizona was defeated by Democrat Barack Obama of Illinois. This was the fifty-sixth presidential polls conducted every 4 years in the States to elect president & vice president. Since 1952, this was the first occasion where an incumbent president and vice president had not run for the same offices.

This presidential election polls was very remarkable for several facts. This was the first time that an African American was elected. This was the first time that a Roman Catholic was elected as the vice president. In addition, no incumbent two senators were in the fray before. After a period of 40 years, the highest voter turnout has been recorded this time.

The main themes of the presidential campaign have been the unpopular Iraq war, the president George W Bushs unpopularity and policies, and the yearning of the USA populace to effect a change. Towards the fag end of the campaigning, the economy and domestic policy secured the attention of the contenders in the presidential election polls. This was made all the more significant in the context of the economic crisis of 2008.

In accordance with the existing facts and figures, the expenditure incurred in conducting presidential election polls have escalated drastically. The final count showed that president-elect Barack Obama had expended approximately $ 513,557,218 at the rate of $ 7.39 per vote. The Republican candidate John McCain had spent about $ 346,666,422 with average amount spent per vote being $ 5.78. As per Federal Election Commission figures, a collective total of $ 1,644,712,232 had been raised and out of that $ 1,601,104,696 had been spent by a total of 148 candidates for all parties in respect of the combined general and primary campaigns.

When these things are considered, there is no reason to undervalue the enormity and significance of the presidential election polls of 2008. After a very tough contest, Senator Barack Obama received 69,456,897 (52.92%) popular votes whilst Senator John McCain polled 59,934,814 (45.66%) votes. The electoral votes were 365 for Obama and 173 for McCain. Finally, Barack Obama was inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States of America at the state capital of Washington D.C. on 20th January, 2009.

In United States of America there is no other bigger event than the presidential election. In every four years time this fight for the most powerful person in the whole of United States occurs.

The election is mainly held by the law of U.S. Constitution, but every state could have its own separate rules as well.A candidate is selected by the individual parties themselves to compete with others, that person who is their candidate for the president can select his/her vice president. They both will be getting the same votes. A voter cannot vote for the president from one party and the vice president from the other party, they both should be from the same party. There could never be a president from one party and a vice president from the other.

In order to be eligible to be the United States president he/she should be more than the age 35 and a citizen of USA for 14 years with a native born identity.

Campaigning prior to the election has a huge bearing on the end results. Meeting people in public is supposedly the most effective way getting into their hearts. Not to mention the effect of internet as well. Internet is a method of clearly and descriptively mentioning the ideas and view to the voters. To give some pre election punches to your opponent the television debates could be used as a very strong medium. It was obvious in recent presidential elections people have had great interest in those debates and thus tend to vote for whoever does well in those.

The first president to be elected in United States from the current presidential election method was George Washington in 1789. Registering a fairly comfortable win he became a very successful president as well. George Washington won the presidential election for the second consecutive time when he was again elected as the president in 1792. From 1804 however the election for the vice president was held. A separate electoral votes were conducted to select the vice president. This method was there until 1872 when it was decided that the candidate for president or his party should select the vice president. Apart from it ensuring both president and the vice president coming from the same party it did not have a huge impact on the election.

From 1932 to 1948 Republican and socialist parties had such a hard time competing against Franklin D. Roosevelt from Democratic. Winning four consecutive presidential elections he was able to beat his opponents with a fairly big margin . Other than George W. Bush many of United States presidents were selected with a huge majority of votes which is rather odd comparing with other countries .

Presidential election in United states is considered as one of the major events in countrys political aspects. The articles available in the internet could give you some idea of how the election is being held. The event has such interest not because it is in USA but because it is the presidential election.

Pennsylvania has been a traditional stronghold of the Democrats This has been once again confirmed in the presidential polls of 2008. There has been no change whatsoever in the minds of the voters about whom to be selected but Obamas offer to change has stuck with them. Pennsylvania election results have given Mr Barack Obama 21 electoral votes in his race for presidency.

With a registered voter population of 8.73 million, from the outset Pennsylvania was predicted to favor Senator Obama heavily. Barack Obama started his campaign with a head start of anything between 4 to 14 over his rival Senator John McCain. However, in the end, Pennsylvania election results helped Barack Obama emerge as the 5tth consecutive Democrat winner in the run for president in Pennsylvania in the presidential elections of the USA.

Although Mr McCain had been expecting some sort of strong support for him in parts of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Senator Barack Obama was successful in receiving strong support in those very same areas. Mr Obama achieved this feat despite a strong all out push by Mr John McCain towards the end of the campaign days to clinch the urban centers as well as swing regions. However, Pennsylvania election results confirmed that John McCain prevailed in Central and Northern Pennsylvania.

It is evident that the contenders had split the votes of whites between them. But, as regards the votes of the blacks and Hispanics, the story differs Based on the surveys carried out after the Pennsylvania election results were announced, it could be safely argued that the blacks and Hispanics were overwhelmingly supportive of Senator Barack Obama. The very reason of Barack Obama being an African American vouches for the fact that blacks and Hispanics wanted to see a black American as the next president.

The population of multiracial Pennsylvania went gaga over the victory of Barack Obama as the Democratic presidential candidate defeating republican John McCain. Crowds gathered at the City Hall soon after Mr Obama was declared the winner in accordance with the Pennsylvania election results. People from all professions, in all age brackets, and from all over Pennsylvania gathered in large numbers to rejoice over the triumph of their president elect, not caring anything about the light rain that fell in a carefree mood.

Well known as one of the largest states in the United States of America, Pennsylvania has 50 election districts under its belt. Election districts are separated such that each district has a separate polling station, making it easier for the constituents of the state to vote. Since it is one of the most populated states in all of America, Pennsylvania election districts can be some of the busiest of all.

Each Pennsylvania election district has a polling station, which is open from 7 am to 8 pm during the days of election.Voters have to register themselves with the election district beforehand so that there will be no confusion when they go to vote.Registering can be done online and there are certain criteria that have to be fulfilled for you to be eligible to register in one of the many Pennsylvania election districts. Being an adult of 18 years or over, being a citizen of America for at least a month and haviong lived in the area for a minimum of thrity days are pre requisites to registering. Finding which of the 50 election districts is easy as long as you can give out an address. There had been similar confusion at last years election as well when voters had not known which of the many Pennsylvania election districts they belonged to and had not brought the registration card with them. The poll workers had to resort to checking each individual against their record book to identify each persons election district. It is also recommended that voters who are voting for the first time bring some kind of identification so that there will be no mess up when trying to vote.

Pennsylvania can be considered a swing state as there are an almost equal number of republican and democrat voters.Although it may seem complicated at the beginning, knowing which election district you belong to can make the process of electing the next president that much more easier.

Ohio, popularly known as the Buckeye State and the seventh in the list of most populated state in America, is a state where there is an equal mix of both blue-collar workers and white-collar districts all rolled in one. Part of the Midwest of America, Ohio has long been known as the swing state, as many elections have been decided by which way the state has voted.

The Ohio board of elections is a set of officials who are nominated to the job to administer elections. Several states in the United States of America have this board of elections specifically for the state alone. Each county in Ohio has its own county Board of elections, all which work under the Ohio board of elections. Although each of the 88 counties could have their own rules regarding elections and voting, it is important to know the ones that apply to your county well. Registering for the county board of elections is very important and most can have a dealine for registering as well. There are also set rules for absentee voters and those who are voting for their first time. Ohio board of elections may require some kind of identification as well when you are going to vote, and it is advisable to double check if you have been registered through the offical website.

The Ohio board of elections has the added responsibility of maing sure that voting goes smoothly in the state. The Ohio board of elections also has to be able to convince as many people as possible to vote for the elections, and try to impress on the people and general public how important each vote will be in deciding the future of the country. The immense responisibility on each person’s shoulder cannot be understated when voting, as it is each one of us who have the power to make sure the right perosn is elected for the job. Therefore the Ohio board of elections plays a vital role in todays world.

Missouri is one of the most populated states in the United States of America and is situated in the Midwest of the country. Having a mix of urban and rural cultures, Missouri election results have so far been an accurate predictor of who the next president of America would be. A big exception was made last year, when in the November 2008 presidential election, John McCain and Sarah Palin from the Republican Party won over Barack Obama and Joe Biden of the Democratic Party in the Missouri election results by just 0.1%. The majority John McCain had over Barack Obama is quite negligent, but still the Missouri election results show just how close an election it was in the usually popular Republican state.

Missouri is well known as a bellwether state in American politics. That is, Missouri has the highest number of times of having supported the national winner of the Presidential race in the country in every election since 1904, and so Missouri election results are historically considered to be an accurate representation of what the presidential race will end up as. The only two occsaions this did not happen was in the election of 1956 when Eisenhower won, and in 2008 when Obama won. It would be no surprise then that Missouri election results are looked at very carefully by the candidates and also by those who predict the outcomes of any election.

It is not only the presidential election that Missouri election results would play am important role. As one of the most populated states in America, the voting public of Missouri plays a vital role in selecting who would serve them as the new president. This power is something that has to be used wisely. The responsibility we have towards society, our country and out future generation is shown in the choices we make today in any election. But it finally boils down to each one of us, as we all have the power to make the change we want in today’s world.
